(IDEX Online) - Las Vegas police said a suspect was killed and an employee injured after an attempted robbery turned into a shootout in the central Las Vegas Valley.

Two suspects went into the John Fish Jewelers store and attempted to tie up a customer and employees in order to carry out the robbery.

However, an employee in the back room, armed with a legal concealed gun, came out and took on at least one of the suspects.

The worker and the one of the suspects fired at each other, leaving the employee with multiple shot wounds and a suspect killed while a customer was also struck.

The other suspect ran from the jewelry store, and has not yet been identified.
