Juniper Systems, a US-based manufacturer of field computer hardware, has introduced the Uinta mapping and data collection software.

Uinta's data collection capabilities include detailed mapping with points, lines, areas, as well as form-based notes for digital recordkeeping. Uinta also allows organizations to customize the software based on their specific data needs.

"We set out to create an easy-to-use and customizable data collection software," Trevor Brown, business development manager at Juniper Systems, said in a release. "We wanted to make sure that users could be trained in just a few minutes and that organizations could customize the software to better reflect the data they are capturing."

Uinta allows organizations to create templates that align with the types of data they are mapping and recording. Templates can be easily shared between users and Juniper has prepared templates for different industries and applications. Industries currently using Uinta include utilies, government entities, as well as companies in the natural resource space.

Uinta allows users to efficiently capture data through electronic data entry, quickly create high-accuracy maps and develop custom project templates. A user friendly interface minimizes training time and the data may be exported to files, printed to professional PDF map reports or incorporated into cloud-based projects.

When combined with the company's Mesa 3 rugged tablet and Geode sub-meter GPS receiver, Uinta offers a rugged, robust, and powerful data collection solution. Uinta is available on the Windows 10 operating system and licenses are now available for purchase.
