Kirkland Lake Names New CFO, Exploration Leader

Kirkland LakeGold Ltd. (TSX, NYSE: KL; ASX: KLA) announces that David Soares is the newchief financial officer and Eric Kallio is senior vice president for exploration.Both appointments are effective immediately. The company also lists a number ofinternal management changes. Soares has 15 years of finance and managementexperience, reflecting progressively senior leadership roles with multinationalmining companies, including Xstrata, Glencore and Barrick. Prior to joiningKirkland Lake, he was CFO of Baffinland Iron Mines Corp., a joint venturebetween Arcelor Mittal and Nunavut Iron Ore. Kallio is a geologist with over 30years of experience working on exploration and underground and open-pit mineplanning, scoping and feasibility studies in Canada and elsewhere. Mostrecently, he was vice president of exploration (Timmins) for Tahoe ResourcesInc.

Superior GoldAnnounces High-Grade Mineralization

Superior Gold Inc. (TSXV: SGI) says it has discovered high-grade goldmineralization at its Plutonic Gold Mine in Western Australia. The drilling wasconducted from May to October. Results include 67 intersections encounteringmore than 5 grams per tonne of gold; 38 intersections encountering more than 10grams; 15 intersections with more than 20 grams; six intersections of more than50 grams; and numerous historic intersections up to 300 meters outside ofresource with up to 17.35 grams over one meter. Chris Bradbrook, president andchief executive officer of Superior Gold, says that “we are achieving the goalof our exploration program as they indicate the potential to expand reservesand resources, which will ultimately support a longer mine life and our goal ofmaximizing grade.” The company will be releasing additional results for otherzones. “Our goal is to provide an updated reserve and resource estimate in thefirst quarter of 2019 using drill results to the end of 2018,” Bradbrook adds.
