The four-day annual convention held yearly inToronto, has grown in size, stature and influence since it began in 1932 --today it is the event of choice for the world's mineral industry.

 This is Kitco News' seventh year covering the PDAC and I can definitely say we have come a LONG way from our early days! This conference holds a special place in my heart since it was the first conference I ever covered for Kitco News - and what a way to start our journey. I remember it like it was yesterday, our media director, John Dourekas, basically told me to, "get a mic, get a videographer and go cover it."Little did I know I would be stepping foot onto the world's largest mining conference with thousands of attendees.Fast forward to today and I am proud to say we now have a huge media presence at the conference; as a full-fledged media partner of the PDAC,with a dedicated filming area - if you happen to spot us please come over and say hello! Words of advice are stay hydrated, stay focused and don't forget your Dr.Scholl's foot relief - I can guarantee you will hit 10,000 steps a day!  I have been covering the precious metals market for five years now and PDAC is by far always the event that sets the tone for the rest of the year. It's more than just who is bullish or bearish; at last year's PDAC, a company was giving away Virtual Reality headsets, a critical signal that the sector is embracing innovation and technology, a major issue that has been raised throughout the past year. I can't wait to find out the tone at this year's conference. Being a regular now at PDAC, I recommend including in your survival gear, lip balm, Tic Tacs and comfortable shoes. On another personal note, as a new dad, the PDAC bags make fantastic diaper bags for the rest of the year - my daughter is already looking forward to her new 2018 gear. |  Witha conference like PDAC it is vital to stay on top of everything, which is whywe are bringing you LIVE coverage of all the events on social media.
