Liberty Steel Dudelange-Liege 'cancels orders for downstream coil,' sources say

Liberty Steel Dudelange-Liege has been canceling orders and shipments to customers that had agreed deals for cold-rolled coil and hot-dipped galvanized coil, sources have told Fastmarkets.

Liberty Dudelange-Liege comprises three production sites - at Fl?(C)malle and Tilleur in Belgium and at Dudelange in Luxembourg - each producing cold-rolled coil, HDG and tinplate.
"[Liberty Steel] has canceled orders because they have no [hot-rolled coil] feedstock to [work with]," a Northern European source said on Monday April 26.
"Liberty Steel has canceled both spot and long-term contracts. They have re-negotiated orders made in September [of 2020] three times, and now they are cancelling orders," another Northern European distributor said.
