(IDEX Online) - Dua Lipa dazzled at the Met Gala wearing an updated version of Tiffany's Lucida Star Necklace, minus the iconic yellow Tiffany Diamond.It's been replaced by 100-carat D-color 82-facet cushion-cut stone, known as the Legendary Diamond.The original 128.54-carat center stone, as worn by Audrey Hepburn and Lady Gaga, is said to be worth $30m.But it became the source of something of a "blood diamond" controversy when last worn by Beyonce for an ad campaign in 2021. The gem was recovered in 1877, in South Africa.Lipa, the Grammy award-winning English/Albanian singer and songwriter, wore the "new" necklace to co-host of a red carpet event honoring the Metropolitan Museum of Art's new exhibition, Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.The Legendary diamond has been cut to mirror the yellow diamond. Tiffany notes that the stone was responsibly sourced from Botswana. Meanwhile, the yellow Tiffany Diamond has been set in a "breathtaking high jewelry creation" that can be worn as a pendant or a brooch, to mark the re-opening of the jeweler's flagship Fifth Avenue store in New York.Other celebs at the event included Lily James, Doja Cat, Simu Liu, Rita Ora and Nicole Kidman.Pic: Dua Lipa/Instagram
