LIVE FUTURES REPORT 02/06: Aluminium down 1%; zinc, nickel hold onto gains

Nickel and zinc's three-month prices were the main metals to register small rises on June 2, while aluminium and copper futures contracts fell on a day of low volumes on the London Metal Exchange with the complex still finding its direction following a strong end to May.

LME nickel's three-month price rose slightly to $18,236 per tonne on Wednesday from $18,130 per tonne on Tuesday, despite hitting a high of $18,370 per tonne during earlier trading. 
LME nickel traded at just over half of Tuesday's volumes, however, with around 5,500 lots traded by 5pm on Wednesday compared with 10,000 lots on Tuesday and an average of 6,850 lots in the week previous.
