Base metals prices on the London Metal Exchange were mostly higher during morning trading on Tuesday December 4, lifted by a slight downturn in the US dollar index and while market sentiment remains positive after recent US-China trade talks.

The three-month nickel price continues to push higher - it is up by more than 6% from last week's low of $10,720 per tonne and is more than 1% higher than last night's close.A fresh cancelation of more than 16,000 tonnes on Monday maintained the metal's upward momentum above $11,000 per tonne against a backdrop of steady demand for use in the electric vehicle and stainless steel sectors.
