LIVE FUTURES REPORT 07/04: LME lead at $1,980; copper, nickel down

London Metal Exchange three-month lead and zinc prices were on the rise on Wednesday April 7 while copper and nickel prices fell from their closing prices on Tuesday following a spate of buying that pushed most metals' prices up by between 1.5-3%.

The LME lead futures price was at $1,980.50 per tonne on Wednesday - its highest in just over a month when the metal closed at $2,051 per tonne on March 3 - up by 0.7% from $1,967 per tonne on Tuesday. 
Lead production in Peru fell by nearly 10% over February to 21,341 tonnes from last year's output figure of 23,708 tonnes, energy and mines ministry, Minem, figures show.
