LIVE FUTURES REPORT 08/12: LME base metals hold near recent highs

Three-month prices on the London Metal Exchange were broadly unchanged from Monday's prices and remained around their peaks on Tuesday December 8 morning.

Nickel was back to high ground after dipping slightly on Monday, with its three-month price at $16,415 per tonne at 9:05am - rising to $16,440 per tonne shortly after - up 0.25% from Monday's 5pm close. 

Nickel declined slightly also, down by 0.16% to $16,373 per tonne from Friday's closing price of $16,399 per tonne. The metal's highest price during trading on Friday was $16,420 per tonne, around $100 short of the week and year-to-date high of $16,525 per tonne reached on Monday November 30.
