LIVE FUTURES REPORT 14/09: Comex copper prices fail to hold gains

Comex copper prices headed into the weekend on a sour note with the complex unable to maintain earlier gains because of a stronger dollar.

Copper prices for December settlement on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange dipped 2.10 cents or 0.8% to $2.6620 per lb."After a disappointing first half of 2018, we expect the global copper market to tighten in the months ahead, in part driven by a pick-up in Chinese economic growth after the defensive easing measures were implemented by authorities in July," Metal Bulletin analyst Boris Mikanikrezai said.
