LIVE FUTURES REPORT 20/03: LME base metals prices stage modest recovery; 60kt inflow caps Al gains

Base metals prices on the London Metal Exchange were markedly higher during morning trading on Friday March 20, with most three-month prices gaining more than 3% over the Asian trading hours, while a fresh inflow of some 65,175 tonnes of aluminium doused the light metal's price recovery.

Topping gains over the morning, the LME tin price recently traded 4.5% higher at $14,150 per tonne, up from a morning low of $12,715 per tonne.Three-month zinc recently traded at $1,917 per tonne, a climb of 3.7% from a morning low of $1,820 per tonne. Turnover in LME copper was some 13,700 lots as of 10am London time, the highest in the complex over the morning, while the red metal's underlying price is now making a steady approach to $5,000 per tonne, recently...
