Lead rose 1% by the close on the London Metal Exchange on Monday December 24, while the rest of the base metals inched lower in a mostly quiet session ahead of the Christmas holidays.

Following a 31,150 tonne cancellation on Monday, mostly in Antwerp LME sheds, lead was the best performer up $20 per tonne to close at $1,985 per tonne on Monday. Total lead stocks fell 50 tonnes to 107,575 tonnesDespite the rise in price, lead remains below the $2,000-per-tonne support level....
