All base-metals prices on the London Metal Exchange were up by 1% or more at the 5pm close of trading on Monday April 26, with overarching bullish sentiment toward economic recoveries taking hold of the complex throughout the day.
Copper and aluminium were the leaders of the rally on Monday, both reaching new 2021 highs during the day at $9,765 and $2,407 per tonne respectively.They closed at 5pm up by 2% and 1.6% respectively, coming to $9,751 and $2,403.50 per tonne.Copper's three-month price on the LME reached its all-time high on February 15, 2011, at $10,190 per tonne, while aluminium was chasing its April 2018 high of $2,718 per tonne.Copper's trading volumes were at their highest since April 19, with just over 20,000 lots traded before 5pm.
