LIVE FUTURES REPORT 29/03: LME Al above $2,290/t, rest of metals trade sideways

The London Metal Exchange three-month aluminium price held around its recent year-to-date high on Monday March 29, while the rest of the metals were slightly lower from the end-of-week rally on Friday.

LME aluminium rallied the most, reaching a new 2021 high of $2,301 per tonne during trading. On Monday at 9am, LME three-month aluminium was $2,297 per tonne, pretty much unchanged from the 2.3% rise it made over the day on Friday to reach $2,298 per tonne at the close. 
The metal rallied while aluminium billet premiums in Europe also rose due to the blockage in the Suez Canal exacerbating the logistical issues that have lead to low material availability.
