Prices were largely unchanged on the London Metal Exchange on the morning of Wednesday June 30, with the exception of lead which continued its steady rise, reaching a new year-to-date high of $2,340 per tonne during early trading.

"Today is the last trading day in June," Malcom Freeman, director at Kingdom Futures Limited, said. "So the question is will the funds and speculative players who appear to be holding the majority of long positions try to pump up the metals prices for month end valuations?"
The three-month lead price rose by 1.1% on Wednesday morning to $2,331.50 per tonne, up from $2,305 per tonne at Tuesday's 5pm close.
