Revenue at lithium producer Livent increased in the second quarter of 2019 on higher volumes of lithium compounds sold, which offset the lower prices achieved.
North American lithium producer Livent's revenue increased by 5.7% in the second quarter of 2019 to $114 million, from $107.9 million in the corresponding quarter of last year.Higher volumes of material sold partially offset the lower prices achieved in the April-June quarter, Paul Graves, Livent's president and chief executive officer, said.The unfavorable prices achieved on certain hydroxide and carbonate volumes sold, particularly into China, were down quarter on quarter, the company said.It did not specify the volume or average price of the material sold in the second quarter but the falling price trend in lithium compounds was in line with the prices...
