LME base metals futures broadly higher; copper, aluminium up 2%

Most base metals futures prices continued to rise in early trading on the London Metal Exchange on Friday November 19, following a strong performance at the close on Thursday.

"A weaker [United States] dollar and constructive US macro data provided some support [to base metal prices]," ED&F Man commodity research head Edward Meir said.
The three-month aluminium price led the complex, increasing by 2.8% to $2,690 per tonne, from $2,616 per tonne at Thursday's 5pm close.
Strong demand continues to underpin the light metal, with on-warrant LME warehouse stocks falling further on Friday to 577,750 tonnes - the lowest levels since 2005.
