LME launches consultation on rule changes, electronic closing price trial

The London Metal Exchange has started a consolidated consultation process to enable it to make the changes it put forward in its new business proposal.

The proposed consultation period, which will last until the close of business on September 28, is open to all interested parties among LME members. Any subsequent rule amendments will take effect from the fourth quarter, the exchange said in a note to members on Wednesday August 1.This follows the publication of its strategic pathway in September 2017.The LME will introduce new dynamic contract rules as well as the incorporation of Registered Intermediating Brokers (RIBs) while adding further options to its LMEprecious product suite, it said while...
