Lucapa Reports Record Revenues from Lulo and Mothae

(IDEX Online) - Lucapa reported record revenues for Q2 of 2021 from both at its Lulo alluvial mine, in Angola, and the Mothae kimberlite mine, in Lesotho.The Australian miner described the performances as "very solid".Lulo brought in $28.7m, its highest quarterly revenue, at an average $4,476 per carat as it processed record volumes.A tender of seven top-quality and fancy colored diamonds diamond with a combined weight of 620 carats (pictured), accounted for most of the quarter's revenue  - a total of $21.4m.  They were sold last month in Luanda, Angola.Mothae's revenue for Q2 was a record $4.8m, with an average price of $504 per carat."The operational performance at the Lulo and Mothae mines, notwithstanding the adverse influence of Covid-19, inclement weather and expansion optimisation delays, have been very solid in the first six months of 2021," said Lucapa managing director  Stephen Wetherall.
