RAPAPORT... Lucara Diamond Corp. has unearthed a 327-carat rough diamondfrom its Karowe mine in Botswana. The high-color white diamond is the eighth over 100 carats that Lucara has found this year, and the ninth largest in its history, it saidlast week. Earlier this month, the miner recovered a 472-carat "top lightbrown" diamond. Lucara, known for producing large stones from Karowe, sold itsbiggest find, the 1,109-carat Lesedi La Rona, to Graff Diamonds for $53 millionin 2017. The company sold the 813-carat Constellation in 2016 for a record$63.1 million.The miner will sell the 327-carat and 472-carat diamonds atan exceptional-stone tender in June, along with other special-size stones thecompany has recovered since the start of the year.Lucara's sales of exceptional stones, excluding the Lesedi La Rona and the Constellation, fell 39% in 2017, according to Rapaport calculations.
