Lundin's Chapada copper-gold mine to restart at 30% capacity

Canada-headquartered Lundin Mining expects to partially resume operations at its Chapada copper-gold mine in the Midwestern Brazilian state of Goi??s within a week and return to full capacity usage in two months, the company said on Tuesday September 29.

Lundin had to halt activities on Sunday September 27 after a power outage damaged four motors used for its semi-autogenous grinding (SAG) and ball mills. One spare motor has already been installed on the SAG mill and the second one should be available early next week for the same equipment.
