Major Chinese stainless steel mills lower July ferro-chrome tender prices by $14 per tonne

China's leading stainless steel producers - Taiyuan Iron & Steel (Tisco), Tsingshan Group and Baosteel - have all lowered their high-carbon ferro-chrome tender prices for July following a recent backswing in upstream chrome ore prices.

Meanwhile, the continuing supply tightness affecting ore and alloy from South Africa could limit the domestic price downtrend in the near term, market participants said on Tuesday June 30.
Tisco lowered its tender price on June 29 to 6,100 yuan ($862) per tonne, down by 100 yuan ($14) per tonne from 6,200 yuan per tonne in May.

Similarly, Tsingshan Group and Baosteel on Tuesday set their July high-carbon ferro-chrome tender prices at 6,297 yuan and 6,300 yuan per tonne respectively, decreases of 100 yuan per tonne from their previous...
