Man "Swapped $237,000 Tiffany Diamond Ring for a Fake"

(IDEX Online) - A customer at a Tiffany & Co store in Singapore has been accused of switching a $237,000 diamond ring for a worthless fake.He diverted a worker's attention to other rings in the store, at The Shoppes, at Marina Bay Sands, and made the swap, according to Singapore police.She called security after realizing the texture of the replica price tag was unlike the original.Wu Youquan, a 43-year-old Chinese national, was later arrested and was found to be in possession of the genuine ring.He was charged yesterday (22 November) with one count of cheating, a charge that carries a maximum 10-year sentence.No further details of the diamond were provided. Pics courtesy Singapore Police Force, show the replica ring (left) and the genuine item.
