Metso has introduced a three-dimensional crushing and screening plant configurator for the mining and aggregate industries, which allows users to design more productive and efficient plants through real-time insights.

The design and simulation tool, called My Plant Planner, is available on Metso's website and is free to use.

"We are really excited about My Plant Planner. Our aim is to help our customers easily test different configurations and operating conditions to see how they affect process performance. The tool allows you to either design and simulate a new crushing and screening plant in 3-D or test how upgrading your current equipment can improve performance," Guillaume Lambert, VP of crushing systems at Metso, said in a release.

Simplified plant design

My Plant Planner includes unique features and insights to help plan optimized crushing and screening circuits and allows users to download a detailed report on their plant designs.

The tool is based on Metso's proprietary software. My Plant Planner also makes it possible to design and simulate crushing and screening circuits in three dimensions. The configurator makes it easy to predict the power consumption of the system and to see its footprint - this is a feature exclusive to My Plant Planner.

With the tool, users can select different crushers, screens and conveyors and identify bottlenecks to understand where extra capacity is needed.

Factors such as capacity, load, and power draw are updated in real-time as the circuit is designed and parameters are updated. At any point, a report is available for download, which includes all of the details about the plant design.

Metso is a world-leading industrial company offering equipment and services for the sustainable processing and flow of natural resources in the mining, aggregates, recycling and process industries.
