Mexican automotive production down 29% in Feb amid gas shortage

Automotive production in Mexico decreased by 28.85% year on year in February 2021 due to gas and energy shortages over the month negatively affecting the sector, Fastmarkets understands.

Mexico produced 238,868 light vehicles in February, down from 335,708 vehicles a year earlier, figures released on Friday March 5 from the national statistics agency Inegi show.
