Mexican automotive production down 5.5% in September

Mexican automotive production dropped by 5.50% year-on-year in September 2020, with the country's output only gradually recovering from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, according to national automotive association Amia.

The country assembled 301,426 light vehicles in September, down from 318,906 units in the corresponding month in 2019.
Compared with August, however, production increased by 2.71% from 293,463 units.

In September, automotive capacity utilization reached 81.50%, close to the average level seen in 2019 of 85.1%, Amia figures...
