Mick Davis' battery materials investment enters partnership with Tesla suppliers

NextSource Materials, a battery materials development company in which Sir Mick Davis' Vision Blue Resources is an investor, said it has entered into a partnership with two companies within the Tesla supply chain.

Toronto, Canada-based NextSource, which is developing the Molo graphite mine, added that it has finalized a binding agreement to construct and operate a battery anode facility to produce spheronized and purified graphite (SPG) used in lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicle and hybrid vehicle applications.
Commissioning of the battery anode facility is targeted for the fourth quarter of 2022. Sites in South Africa, Europe and North America are under consideration for the facility.
