Colorado School of Mines was ranked second in the nation on Money's list of public four-year colleges and universities with the highest return on tuition investment 20 years after graduation.

According to Money, Mines graduates saw a $949,000 return on investment with financial aid and a $909,000 return on investment without aid. Mines was second only to SUNY Maritime College on the list, which did not include U.S. service academies. Return on investment is calculated by subtracting the cost of college from 20-year earnings and comparing that to 24-year earnings of high school graduates.
