In the latest U.S. News & World Report college rankings, released today, Mines retained its claim as Colorado's top national university. Mines was ranked the No. 34 public university and No. 84 among all national universities, a category that encompasses institutions that offer a full range of undergraduate majors, plus master's and doctoral programs, with an emphasis on faculty research. Within the state, University of Denver came in at No. 94, while the University of Colorado Boulder ranked No. 104 on the national universities list.
