--A group of mining companies including Randgold Resources Ltd., Glencore PLC and Ivanhoe Mines Ltd. have warned the government of the Congo that its new mining code will cost the country $3 billion over a decade, according to Bloomberg.
--The mining companies said they intend "to protect their rights", according to a note that the companies sent to the Mines Ministry, Bloomberg reports.
--Negotiations with the government have so far failed resolve the companies' concerns, Bloomberg says.
