The biggest gain was seen at the Collahuasi mine where red metal output jumped 26.2% to 381,100 tonnes. Escondida, the country's largest mine, saw output increase 4.9% to 699,900t while state copper company Codelco saw its production grow 2.3% to 436,700t.

Anglo American's Sur division saw production contract 16.4% to 202,300t due to drought conditions, with sharp declines also reported at the Esperanza and Spence operations.
