MMK brings forward Strategy-2025 upstream reconstruction projects

Russia's Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) has speeded up the implementation of major upstream investment projects included in its Strategy-2025 plan, the company's director for economics said last week.

The company now hopes to commission its new sinter plant, with capacity for 5.5 million tonnes per year, in the first quarter of 2019, instead of the summer 2019 start that was initially scheduled, Andrey Eremin said during a presentation of the company's financial results for the first quarter of the year.
