MONTHLY TURKEY FLAT STEEL WRAP: Demand again to remain moderate in April; no price increases expected

Demand for flat steel in Turkey will remain moderate through April; and no price increases are expected, because end-user demand is not strong, market participants told Metal Bulletin.

"Everyone expects prices to fall, but if demand from Europe remains good, producers may not decrease [their prices]. The market is uncertain for now," one market participant said on Thursday March 29. "Prices need to fall more," one trader said on March 29. "Demand has slowed down. The expectation is that prices will fall, but producers have not reduced their prices yet," one market participant said on March 23. "Producers have not announced June prices yet, but I believe prices will fall. Nobody wants to buy now [because the] market is very uncertain. Also, they do not want to have high stocks if prices start to fall. Sentiment is negative," an executive with a steel service center said on March 23.
