More UK-origin scrap bound for China in 2021, Atlas Commodities says

Atlas Commodities expects more ferrous scrap from the United Kingdom to be sold to China from now on.

"We expect demand for containerized scrap from China to grow significantly in coming months, underpinned by robust steel demand from the economic recovery in China," the commodity brokerage firm's chief executive officer Harry Seale told Fastmarkets on Thursday March 18.
Atlas Commodities on Wednesday loaded 1,000 tonnes of plate and structural scrap (P&S) in containers for buyer Zhejiang Metals and Materials Co, Seale said. The cargo is scheduled for discharge at the Port of Jingtang in early May.
