Moscow's Shuttered Diamond Bourse Suspends WFDB Membership

(IDEX Online) - The Moscow Diamond Bourse (MDB) has suspended its membership of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) in response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.Trading at the bourse ceased on 7 March, two weeks after troops entered the country."We look forward to see the end of hostilities and hope that we all will be able to return to normal in the future," MDB president Alex Popov said in a letter.The MDB joined the WFDB, which currently has 29 members, in June 2006.WFDB president Yoram Dvash (pictured) said Mr Popov had acted responsibly in shutting down its activities and suspending its membership of the WFDB.
