(IDEX Online) - Famous jeweler and industry entrepreneur Fred Mouawad has introduced the world's largest round brilliant cut, fancy vivid yellow diamond to be graded by GIA.
The 54.21 carat round fancy vivid yellow - named the Mouawad Dragon - was reportedly mined in South Africa.
The cutting and polishing of the resulting gem by Mouawad's team of expert cutters took about six months.The Mouawad Dragon joins Mouawad's impressive collection of signature stones: the 51.12 carat D, IF Dynasty diamond; the 245.35 ct. Jubilee diamond, the 135.92 ct. Queen of Holland diamond, the 69.42 ct. Taylor Burton, and - reportedly - the world's largest D, IF shaped diamond that weighs 218.08 ct.
