MSN: Take Care with Gold Coins

LONDON, 13 January 2019 - Comment from BullionVault features today in a short note on tech giant Microsoft's MSN news pages about the new 2019 gold coins launched by the Royal Mint.

Republishing an article from top-selling UK mid-market tabloid the Mail on Sunday, MSN says that the 2019 edition of the Sovereign gold coin - first minted with artist Benedetto Pistrucci's engraving of St.George defeating the dragon in 1816 - is "not necessarily the most financially astute way for investors to buy gold."

"As an investment," MSN quotes Adrian Ash, director of research at BullionVault, "beware the Sovereign's wide gap between purchase prices and the amount you will get back if you sell."
