Earlier this month, MBR attended MBs 6th Asian Nickel conference in Jakarta, where we gave presentations on the outlook for stainless steel and Li-ion batteries. Here we provide some key takeaways from the event: On batteries. Nickel demand from the Li-ion battery sector is expected to surge fivefold over the next 6-7 years, rising rapidly from the current 100,000 tpy to 500,000 tpy by 2025.
