NORTHERN EUROPE REBAR: Prices flat despite subdued demand

Steel rebar prices is the north of Europe were flat in the week to Wednesday April 14, despite subdued buying activity in some countries and customers pushing for discounts, Fastmarkets heard.

Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for steel reinforcing bar (rebar), domestic, delivered Northern Europe remained at ?,?650-670 ($775-798) per tonne on April 14, unchanged week on week.
After a splash of buying interest amid restocking in the first half of April, trading activity "went back to sleep," sources said.
Several sources in Germany, the region's flagship market, told Fastmarkets there was still a problem with pre-fabricators accepting higher prices from mills.
