NORTHERN EUROPE WIRE ROD: Prices stay flat but increases likely soon

Steel mesh-quality wire rod prices in the north of Europe remained largely unchanged in the week to Wednesday November 4, with sentiment still optimistic despite concerns over the second wave of Covid-19 infections, sources told Fastmarkets.

Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for steel wire rod (mesh-quality), domestic, delivered Northern Europe was unchanged at ?,?485-495 ($567-579) per tonne on November 4.
The assessment was based on offers and "workable prices" reported by market participants.
Wire rod demand was still good in most northern countries amid persistently short supplies, sources said.
