Ongoing negotiations 'crucial' to easing US-China trade stand-off

Interactive Investor's Richard Hunter discusses with Proactive the ongoing war of words between China and the US on trade tariffs.

''What happened during the week is that the US markets went into freefall after the initial $50bln Trump announcement, it then probably became apparent overnight ... that these hadn't in fact been implemented yet .. and the markets bounced straight back''.

''On the plus side it shows that volatility is back and markets are behaving as they should but it also shows markets do tend to overreact in both directions to the noises coming out of the President's Office yet again.''

Hunter also talks through what's shaping up to be an interesting time for US tech stocks with questions around the need for stricter regulation in the industry.
