Peru's base metals output mostly up in August; zinc down amid lower ore grades

Peru's base metals production largely rose in August versus the same month last year, the exception being zinc with output falling amid lower mined ore grades, according to data published by the ministry of energy and mines, Minem, on Monday October 4.

Peruvian copper production totaled 202,942 tonnes in August, up by 4.63% from 193,965 tonnes in the same month last year. In January-August, output totaled 1.48 million tonnes, a 9.99% year-on-year increase from 1.34 million tonnes.
