Peru's iron ore output close to 394,000 tonnes in June as pandemic restrictions ease

Iron ore output in Peru reached 393,741 tonnes in June 2020, after two months with no production, according to the country's mining and energy ministry.

The country's iron ore production was halted during April and May because of government-imposed measures intended to contain the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

On an annual comparison, June's iron ore production fell by 57.60% from the 927,601 tonnes produced in the corresponding month in 2019, according to the figures released on Wednesday August 5.
