(IDEX Online) - The Cullinan diamond mine continues to give up its treasures. The latest noteworthy find from the celebrated mine is a 20.08-carat gem quality Type IIb blue diamond.
Petra Diamonds Limited, which operates the South African mine, said in a statement that Cullinan remains a significant source of rare blue diamonds.
The miner added that it once again confirms the prevalence of exceptional stones in the Cullinan orebody as well as the ability of the mine's plant to recover the full spectrum of diamonds.
The find will be welcome news for Petra, which recently announced a 6-percent drop in its full-year revenue for 2019.
