POLAND LONG STEEL: Prices steady while sellers eye hikes on healthy demand outlook

Domestic rebar prices in Poland were largely supported over the week to Friday March 19 and sources said they expect continued good end-user demand and higher scrap values to lead prices higher.

In the secondary market, buying activity was reported to be quite good during the assessment period, with some trading sources expecting March to be a record sales month for them, Fastmarkets heard.
Rebar was heard traded in the secondary market at about 2,900 zloty ($750) per tonne delivered, up from 2,880 per tonne delivered last week.
Offers prices from local producers ranged 2,900-2,930 per tonne ex-works, with most deals heard done at the lower price end.
But producers were confident they could get higher prices because they have good order books.
