POLAND REBAR: Mills push for higher prices on rising scrap costs

The domestic price for steel rebar in Poland inched higher this week on bullish offers from mills, reflecting the growth momentum in international scrap markets, sources told Fastmarkets on Friday November 20.

Polish rebar producers were looking for higher prices this week, following the uptrend in the long steel markets in the EU and internationally, and with a rise in global scrap prices also supporting bullish sentiment.
Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for steel reinforcing bar (rebar), domestic, exw Poland, was 1,960-2,000 zloty ($519-530) per tonne on Friday, narrowing upward from 1,950-2,000 zloty per tonne a week earlier.
The assessment included offers, deals and achievable prices heard in the market during the review period.

Some producers were offering rebar at 2,020-2,030 zloty per tonne exw this week, but these prices were not included in the assessment because no deals have been heard...
