POLAND REBAR: Prices flat, but market braced for rises in September

Domestic steel rebar prices in Poland have been fairly stable over the past week despite somewhat slower buying, with market participants expecting to see higher prices in September because of increased scrap costs and a seasonal pick-up in demand, sources told Fastmarkets on Friday August 21.

Poland's rebar market was quiet during the assessment week due to the normal seasonal buying slowdown, sources said.
"This week is very slow - the market is practically dead," one trader said.
Most local mills were reported to be sold out of material for immediate delivery and were expected to come back with higher offers soon.
The scale of the increase should be about 20-30 zloty ($5-8) per tonne, several sources said.
