POLAND REBAR: Prices hold steady despite slowing demand

Domestic steel rebar prices in Poland held steady in the week to Friday November 13, despite weakening buying activity, sources told Fastmarkets.

During the assessment week, purchasing slowed down in the Polish rebar market, although local producers were "not ready for any significant price cuts," market participants told Fastmarkets.
"Demand is worse than in October, but mills are trying to keep prices unchanged and the uptrend in global scrap prices will probably support that" one trader said.
Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for steel reinforcing bar (rebar), domestic, exw Poland stood at 1,950-2,000 zloty ($512-525) per tonne on Friday, narrowing from 1,940-2,000 a week earlier.
