Queensland coal exports maintain y-o-y downward trend in March

Coal exports from Australia's Queensland state were down by 4.85% year on year in March, according to data from the North Queensland Bulk Ports Corp and Gladstone Ports Corp.

Queensland, Australia's metallurgical coal hub, exported 15.71 million tonnes of coal - including small volumes of thermal coal - in March, compared with 16.51 million tonnes a year earlier, the latest data from the two port operators shows. Exports ticked up by 1.55% from 15.47 million tonnes in February.
The North Queensland Bulk Ports Corp oversees the Dalrymple Bay, Hay Point and Abbot Point coal terminals, while Gladstone Ports Corp manages and operates the Port of Gladstone.
